Organic And Natural Food Snacks

As we become more concerned about the ingredients in our food products, the more confused we can become. New food labeling laws, especially Nutrition Fact Labels, which are required on all processed foods, help us understand the basic food group components. But how do we know which ingredients are harmful or not so healthy for our kids?

What is the difference between natural and organic snack foods?

Organic refers to the way food is grown and processed. Organic foods are grown without toxins and persistent chemicals. Instead farmers use methods that work with nature, like crop rotation, cover crop planting, and composting. Some even use a release of insects that are beneficial to the crops being raised.

Organic food products do not contain fructose corn syrup, genetically modified organisms, artificial coloring and flavorings, MSG, and preservatives. Plus, they are grown without the use of pesticides. Natural food products contain no artificial colors, flavorings, or preservatives.

As more and more environmental issues are raised each day, many parents are looking for ways to raise healthy, strong children without exposing them to harmful toxins. Providing them with organic and natural snack foods is a very positive step toward that goal.

Natural and Organic Snack Ideas:

Fruits and Vegetables

Purchase fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables. Canned products have more sugar, and salt, plus contain much less dietary fiber. If you choose to use canned fruits and vegetables look for organic products or natural ones that have no sugar added and are low in sodium.

Organic grains:

100% Whole-wheat Breads

Organic Toaster Pastries

Organic Graham Crackers and Vanilla Wafers

Tortilla Chips

Oat Bran Pretzels

Natural Potato Chips

Organic or Natural Cereals

Granola Bars

Homemade Trail Mix

Organic and Natural snack foods provide kids with a healthy nutritious snack treat that adds more nutrition to their diets. Whether they are eaten on the go, at home, after sports activities, or at school, organic and natural snacks foods provide important nutrients and energy that kids need everyday.

Why Stress Is Dangerous

Almost everyone finds stress annoying and unwanted in their lives, but not everyone knows how dangerous stress can be - especially when it stays in your body for a long time. Certain parts of our bodies are directly affected by stress and its adverse effects.

Stress begins in the brain. There is a sudden unexpected surge of "stress" hormones when you feel anxiety. When these hormones are released, sleeping and resting are nearly impossible. Though being extremely energetic is good when one is working, the human body is not built for such state for long periods of time. If the hyper-activity is extended too much, one will eventually experience headaches, mood swings, aggressiveness, and a loss of the ability to concentrate on a given task. During this time, it becomes difficult to retain information and short term memory can be affected.

There is a constant misconception that men are less susceptible to stress compared to women and this idea is now being challenged. Studies reveal that the difference between men and women is not stress susceptibility, but their way of dealing with stress.

Too much stress also stops the function of the "hypothalamus" which is where the brain regulates emotion. When we are stressed, the hormones that make us feel better (endorphins) are not well regulated. Thus, we lack energy to deal with problems and tasks, and we eventually feel unwell.

Another area affected by stress is the ears. Though high stress usually increases our awareness and therefore our hearing, it does not mean that it is healthy to be in this constant state of arousal. A study from Cornell University reveals that during hyper-awareness, there is a greater risk for heart failure. Since our hearing is increasingly sensitive when we are stressed, we are more exposed to hearing loud honks of car horns, too loud ringtones and shouting.

One's lungs are also affected by stress, as one will more likely experience hyperventilation when he or she is under a lot of stress. It is a natural response for our body to demand more oxygen when it feels in danger or uncomfortable. Too much inhaling of oxygen will cause dizziness and a sharp pain on the chest. Asthma and other respiratory problems can be triggered if there is too much inhalation of oxygen.

When one is under stress, the adrenaline resulting from this state will dilate the eyes, thus improving one's vision. However it also might cause eye ticks. Over time, your eyes become overused, over-stimulated and fatigued.

Uncontrolled stress also dries out the mouth, and leads to dehydration - something we all know is uncomfortable and unhealthy. Clenching jaws and grinding teeth are also normal mannerisms of people when they undergo stress.

As proven by countless researchers, aromatherapy is a good way to de-stress. One will instantly feel rejuvenated after a relaxing bath using products made from essential oils and plant extracts such as the oils of jasmine and lavender. Nice flowery scents take the mind off the problems that are impending, and stimulate the brain. Not only do they smell great, but plant based products tend to restore hydration and replenish oils in the skin that are lost during times of stress. The skin will not only look better from the outside, but it will also absorb the essential oils that are bundled with aromatherapy products and be healthier on the inside.

Car Sales Success Is All About Avoiding Demotivation

Are you a new car salesman or new car saleswomen? Or maybe you sell cars and manage others who also sell cars. Whatever the role, success in car sales is all about avoiding demotivation.

Many times in any industry from the automobile or transportation to the high tech, there are people who want to help others to reach success. Their desire to motivate others is good, yet the reality is that there are just as many obstacles that demotivate a sales force.

To be a success in selling cars begins with a strong internal belief that you are a success as a person. What this means is that you have weathered the adversities of life and have made it to the finish line for whatever race you are currently running.

Motivation in sales is quite interesting. What motivates one person may not motivate another. Hence, it is difficult to apply the same actions to everyone within the dealership. However it is much easier to demotivate the sales force.

Demotivation begins when the dealership fails to have a strategic plan. If a dealership wants to increase car sales, then the first step is to make sure that ALL actions or behaviors are consistent. Inconsistency in behavior will not increase sales. To avoid this inconsistency requires a written values and vision statement.

Changing the mission is another demotivating factor. One week the goal is to sell X cars, the next week the goal is to sell X add ons. Hitting a constantly moving target is difficult even for the best sales persons.

When a simple mission statement is crafted, the focus is then on the same goal only broken down into shorter time frames such as months. If the mission is to sell 1,500 units this year, then each month the dealership needs to sell 125 units provided historical records do not show any months where sales were consistently high or low.

Policies and procedures are another way to demotivate the sales force especially if they are not applied consistently. For example, at the car dealership everyone must go through a specific training and an agreed to sales process. A new sales person is hired who has a proven track record of selling 15 cars per month. This person does not have to follow the sales process nor attend any sales training.

What happens is that the rest of the sales force sees this exception and their internal motivation has been dramatically reduced. Even though they may try not to allow this to bother them, it does. Exceptions always affect the performance of the organization. (Think for a moment about the teacher's pet and how you felt.) This past conditioning affects current behaviors.

When the obstacles to demotivation are removed, each sales person can focus on what he or she needs to do - sell more cars or units. By taking such action, not only will you increase sales, but you will begin to lay the foundation for a high performance work culture.

Pursuit of Happiness - Three Ideas That Never Fail

Maxwell Maltz defined happiness as a state of mind in which our thinking is pleasant, for a good portion of time. Pursuit of happiness represents actions we deliberately engage in for the purpose of becoming happier.

Benjamin Franklin said, "The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself."

So how does one go about this pursuit? Here are THREE ideas that will help in finding happiness in your life:

1. Pursue Goals: Working on long-term goals that are important to you, is an excellent recipe for finding happiness. Identify and set goals that you consider as deeply meaningful to yourself, and take steadfast steps towards attaining them; you will find that this provides an immeasurable amount of satisfaction and contentment. The only key is - the goals you set should resonate with your psyche.

It doesn't matter if these are material goals, or relationship goals or spiritual goals. While the happiness that is attained through material goals may be relatively short-lived, and typically doesn't last as long as that attained through other types of goals - thereby quickly leaving you with the need to find other goals to pursue - it still doesn't take away from the fact that the pursuit of such goals adds value to your life. As long as your goals strike a chord deep inside you, and attaining them adds immense value to your being, pursuit of such goals always adds to your happiness and your sense of fulfillment.

2. Help Others: Very few things come close to the joy of giving, especially to those in need. Help others taste happiness by giving, without expectation of reciprocity, and it almost surely comes back to you, multi-fold. This is not necessarily limited to donating material goods to the needy. It also includes doing those little helpful things, or otherwise bringing joy to your family or other people you are involved with, thereby deepening your inter-personal relationships.

So how to find happiness? Simple answer - Give Happiness!

3. Stay Healthy: All the wonderful tips that are supposed to lead us on the road to happiness would serve little purpose, if we spend most of our time and energies stressed out and anxious about our health. By taking care of our health, we set ourselves on a strong footing to pursue other avenues that we expect would become our keys to happiness. As someone rightly said "Health is Wealth" - one can extend that to say "Health is Happiness" as well.

"But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?" -Albert Camus

You Must Change to Be Happier

Notice how you are in your every day life: how you think, feel, and act. Notice how you feel about yourself when you act certain ways.

The only way to alter a pattern is to first recognize the pattern exists. And then to decide that you want things to be different. And here's the kicker-you need to be ready to live your life differently. You see, you can decide all day long that you want to change, but if you're not ready, nothing is going to happen.

Before working with clients, I interview them. I need to know if they are ready to create a new way of being. Everybody says they want their life to run differently. But are they ready to actually take the necessary steps to make it happen? For some people that step takes years. For some people it may take a whole lifetime. And for some people-it never happens. They are never ready to change. They will just flap their lips about it all their life.

To be ready to change means when somebody offers you a step to take in a new direction-a step in a direction you have never gone, an action you have never done, or an action that you have never done quite this way-when you do it, and you have this faith, and you leap ahead into that new way of being, that is being ready to change. That is knowing you decided to step into your new world and new way of being, and that is the moment the change happens.

Change happens in an instant. People spend their lifetime getting ready to change. The actual shift happens instantly. I want to be sure you know that fact. You are going through this material right now. You are thinking about changing. And you are wanting your world to run a new way.

I want you to really consider, are you ready ti step into that new way? See, when you make changes a lot of things happen in your world. First of all, the people who live with you-your family or your friends who are like family-you are all like a mobile. What happens when you touch one part of a mobile? Well, the whole thing moves.

So if you are part of the mobile, that is your household, and you move, everybody else has to move whether or not they want to move, whether or not they choose to move, decide, or are ready to move-they move. In relation to you, they have to move. And usually they don't like it. So they want you to change back.

But the whole reason you switched your life around was so you could be happier.

So what will happen when you are making the shifts that you have wanted to make for a long time? Some people who aren't happy with your changes, who aren't ready, maybe, to evolve, and move up, and move forward in their lives-those people will fall off the track of being with you. They will disappear from your world.

It might feel a little hard. And it might hurt. But only for a little while. Do you know why? Because when you make the change, you alter your energy. You will attract a whole new set of friends, a whole new set of acquaintances--a whole new way of doing things, and being in the world.

To change your life you must first decide you are ready to change. Then change happens instantly.

Be happier, how to be happier, ready to change.

Ali Bierman shows you how to be happier by changing the unknown belief systems that stop you cold. Grab her free ebook What You Don't Know You Don't Know Runs You to make your life happier now at http://www.creatingthelife.com/ebook.html

Characteristics of Successful People

Each human being, who exists above the level of simple survival and therefore has the freedom to think and make choices, has the opportunity to choose to live either a life that is 'on purpose' or by accident.

Choosing to live life by accident means deciding to be a creature of circumstance. This is the choice made (usually unconsciously) to consider ones self as being a victim. Victims opt for failure (or discord), personal frustration and sadness. They seldom accept responsibility for events, conditions and circumstance. "I didnt do it on purpose. It is not my fault." Their thoughts, emotions, words and actions are reactive.

Choosing to live life on purpose means deciding to be a creator of circumstance. This is the choice made (usually consciously) to consider ones self as being a victor. Victors opt for success (or harmony), personal fulfillment and happiness. They almost always accept responsibility for events, conditions and circumstance. 'I made a mistake. Allow me to correct it." Their thoughts, emotions, words and actions are proactive.

There are ten characteristics of creativity that bring the success, fulfillment and happiness that occur from living a life on purpose. They are the characteristics that are necessary to be taken on by any individual who makes the choice to be a creator.

These ten characteristics are as follows:

1. Desire: The metaphysical equivalent of gravity. A powerful electromagnetic output of your emotional being that draws you together with that which you imagine and idealize.

A useful affirmation to support your integration of this principle:

'My desire attaches to my thoughts to make them attractive to the elements necessary for making real my ideals.'

Another affirmation: 'I am passionate about my ideals.'

2. Decision: The choice to be in control of your own life, to create your own game plan, to opt out of the past into the present in order to create the future.

Affirmations:

'I choose to be a creator.'

'My choices give me the power to consciously create.

3. Discrimination: The ability to focus on a specific potentiality amongst the infinite possibilities in the field of pure potentiality (the great allowingness).

Affirmations:

'My choices are clear to me.'

'I know what my choices are.'

4. Discernment: The selection of that which is true and best for you. The ability to see the win/win scenarios. The application of wisdom and insight.

Affirmations:

'I am capable of making the best choice.'

'I make the right choices for all concerned.'

5. Determination: When your actions mirror your belief and desire, every step is towards your destination; every thought and emotion is towards success.

Affirmations:

'I am constant in my faith in my ideal.'

'I am determined to reach my goals.'

6. Discipline: The constant expression of your will and personal power to become all you need to be, do all you need to do in order to have what you have idealized.

Affirmations:

'I act in harmony with what I hold as an ideal.'

'I am a disciple unto myself and my ideals.'

7. Dedication: The ability to totally commit to your journey and your destination. A persistence to do whatever is necessary until something is complete and manifest.

Affirmations:

'I always believe in my ideals. I am dedicated to my goals.'

'I am committed to my success.'

8. Devotion: The willingness to move past commitment into compassion, empathy and unity. A true love of life and all its elements including your ideals and goals.

Affirmations:

'My ideals are the image of the real me.'

'My ideals and goals are worthy of my complete love.'

9. Detachment: The ability to let go of the result, the destination, in order to live in the present moment. To be here, now.

Affirmations:

'I am fully present in this moment. Life is a journey. Each moment is precious.'

'I am not controlled or deceived by circumstances or conditions. Instead, I enjoy them for what they are, lessons that guide me to success.'

10. Divinity: A transcendent conscious awareness of who you are, where you are, why you are.

Affirmations:

'When I recognize and act out of my spiritual being, everything makes sense.'

'Everything is sacred. I am sacred. My ideals are sacred. My thoughts, emotions, words and deeds are sacred. My results are sacred.

Start to live an intentional life by examining your persistent thought patterns and core beliefs. Once you have identified those, then go about consciously choosing what to think and believe.

As the old saying goes...'plan your work and work your plan' or plan your life and live your plan. What will you choose? To live a life of and on purpose or to live a life of accidental circumstance?
